Support My Ministry
For the past two years (May 2007 – July 2009), I have been serving at the La Palmera Christian Cultural Center in Trinidad, Bolivia while part of the organization International Teams. I have been teaching computers to high school kids, doing computer projects and leading the youth group. It has been a long road of challenges and spiritual growth learning the Bolivian culture and making great strides with my Spanish. But it has been a very rewarding experience too. During my time in Bolivia, I lived in the midst of flooding, political turmoil and witnessed countless acts of God’s grace.
Now I am being led in a new direction. I don’t know at this time why God isn’t keeping me in Bolivia, but I am excited about the new opportunity before me. I will be continuing with International Teams and moving to their Latin America Regional Office located in San Isidro, Costa Rica a suburb of San Jose. There I will have the opportunity to use my computer skills to work on a number of computer projects such as websites, help develop discipleship tools to aid in spreading the Good News to Costa Ricans and other Latinos throughout the region. I will also be providing on site technical support of the network infrastructure and of course troubleshooting problems for various staff and missionaries. Additionally I will be discipling (mentoring & teaching) university aged youth through a local church ministry. I plan to be here at least three years, until December 2012.
I know this may not seem like the most glamorous missions work – I am not going to “the ends of the earth” or even a place where there is tons of extreme poverty. But as a good friend of mine pointed out, I have the opportunity to share God’s love by providing a practical skill that nobody else in the ministry there right now can which is offering my computer skills, something the Lord has blessed me with.
Although I have completed the support I need to move to Costa Rica, but there are always additional costs that arise for various things from conferences to ministry needs to unforeseen expenses to emergencies, etc. You get the idea. If you would like to make a credit card donation towards my work, you can do so through the International Teams website here. Just put my name in the “designate for” box.
